The product must:
- Offer protection against small splashes of molten metal, and
nbrief contact with flame. The garments certified to this standard
nare suitable for use in welding and allied processes. - The garments are tested to withstand at least 15 drops of
nmolten metal, and have a maximum temperature rise of 40?C
non the back of the fabric. The test includes limited flame
nspread. - Offer protection against brief contact with heat and flame.
The heat can be convective, radiant, molten material, or a
ncombination thereof:
The garment is classified for the following parameters:
n(A) Limited Flame Spread.
n(B) Convective Heat, a scale of 1-5 where 5 is the highest.
n(C) Radiant Heat, Scale 1-4, where 4 is the highest. BS EN 116.
